TEAM SARACENS RACE TO THEIR 11TH VICTORY IN CELEBRATION GALA!

Team Saracens exploded into action to romp to their 11th successive win in the Celebration Gala held at Grand Central Pools on Saturday 13th June.  Saracens were always the favourites to win having already swept the board by winning the Intertown League’s Junior, Senior and Combined sections. However, this year’s Celebration Gala was a day of reckoning for Saracens Swimming Club when membership in the senior section dwindled following Stockport Metro’s decision to withdraw two hours of vital water time from the club.

The team stepped up to compete alongside local clubs from Marple, Romiley, Hyde, Wilmslow and Ashton.  The team were outstanding and thoroughly deserved their win.  The team raced to victory in an incredible and unparalleled 26 out of 29 events. It was one-way traffic for the whole competition with the other teams unable to match the superior skills, stamina and strength of Saracens’ swimmers.

Head Coach Kevin Nuttall commented: ‘Throughout the whole season the swimmers have shown remarkable character and they deserve to emerge triumphant.  I am very proud of each and every swimmer who has represented the team this year.'

The coaches and team managers demonstrate a huge amount of faith in the ability of the swimmers and in return the swimmers provided their supporters with inspirational racing which was exciting, uplifting and overall a positive experience for all involved.

Saracens, more formally known as Hazel Grove and Bramhall Amateur Swimming Club has a strong team of dedicated ASA qualified swimming teachers, all of whom are volunteers.  For more information or enquiries about joining Saracens please consult the website www.saracens-asc.co.uk
