We took a small team of swimmers to the Salford Super Sprint Saturday meet on 3rd December 2016. For some swimmers this was their first Licensed Meet and their first opportunity to gain ranked times.
A good time was had by all (swimmers and parents alike). The venue was great and we had a very warm welcome from City of Salford Swimming Club. We were certainly the loudest (if smallest) club on poolside and we were very proud of our swimmers for their team spirit and poolside behaviour.
Every single Saracens swimmer gained medals or pennants and almost all gained a new personal best time. Harry chopped more than 30 seconds off his previous best on 100m Freestyle. Sammy gained a new PB in 100m freestyle ; Megan got PBs in 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 50m butterfly. Sophie T got PBs in 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke. Sophie W was swimming in her very last competitive race as a 9 year old and gained ranked times in 50m free and 50m back. Eva got a PB in her 50m breaststroke and gained ranked times in 50m free and 50m back.
Medals gained – overall our swimmers obtained 3 golds, 5 silvers and 14 pennants. For such a small team we made a huge impact. Well done to all the swimmers involved.
