Abigail Faulkner has been a member of Saracens for the past 4 years. She is very active in the club, competing in the Intertown league and helping with the younger swimmers. Abi will be 16 years old on Wednesday 22nd February.
On Saturday 25th February at 10.00am, as part of her birthday present, Abi is going to do a Tandem Skydive from 11,000 feet. She will free fall 120 mph from this height until 5000 feet where the parachute will then open.
Due to bad weather, the jump has been delayed until the 18th March.
This is something she’s wanted to do since she was 12 years old, but was not old enough to do so until know.
She would like to use this as an opportunity to raise funds for the charity ‘Help the Heroes’ as she is hoping to go in the army when she finishes school. She will attend Harrogate Army College until she is old enough and then join the regular army to hopefully become an engineer in her chosen field.
Most of her family have been in the forces at some time in their lives so this decision would not be much of a surprise to her Mum and Dad.
In recognition of her commitment to the club, Saracens are showing their support by raising awareness of the event through the web site.
Please would you sponsor this slightly mad but very brave young girl.
